William Paul Wassmer (Bill)
Bill, our beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, and friend passed away on July 24th 2016 of kidney disease and heart failure. Bill was born March 27th 1927 to Theodore James and Hester Hall Wassmer. Married Shirley Jensen Aug 22nd 1953 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
He served in the US Navy and was active in the Battle of Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and Leyte Gulf during World War II.
Retired from Lennox Industries after 41 years of service as a consultant for heating and air conditioning.
He was active in the LDS Church and served in two bishoprics in two different wards, stake clerk, stake high council as well as many other callings. Bill and Shirley served for 18 month for the Zimbabwe Mission. They served as temple ordinance workers in the Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain Temples.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, camping, boating, model airplanes, motorcycling, and belonged to the Temple Riders Association.
Survived by his wife Shirley, son James (Johanne), daughter Paula Bowen (Bradley), son Bill Philip (Kathleen), seven grand children, seven great grandchildren, and brother-in-law Les Harrison.
Preceded by parents, sisters Vera, Marge, Lois, brothers Theodore, Karl, Donald, and Dean.
