Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Shyrl Faye Broschinsky Bates, passed away at her home in North Salt Lake April 5, 2025. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 28, 1936, to Clyde Broschinsky and Hazel Smith Broschinsky.
Shyrl married her High School sweetheart Warren William Bates in 1957. They lived in Seattle Washington while he completed his service in the Navy Reserve and then made their home in North Salt Lake, where they raised their two sons and two daughters.
A talented florist, Shyrl leaves behind a lasting memory that will be cherished by all who knew her. For 32 years, she used her artistic talent to create beautiful floral arrangements, bridal bouquets, and stunning gardens, bringing joy and beauty to those around her. Her knowledge and passion for flowers were evident in every arrangement. Her legacy in the floral world is a testament to her skill.
Shyrl's impact on her family is immeasurable and her spirit and life will be remembered in the hearts of those she leaves behind,
Shyrl is survived by her husband Warren, her children, Jeff (Sue), Kevin (Jamie), Leslie, Amy (Todd), 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, three sisters Carla, JoAnn and Susan.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be no viewing, and the graveside services will be at the Bountiful Cemetery on
Wednesday April 9th at 11:00 - followed by internment.
