1959 Schuyler 2022

Schuyler Ted Olsen

January 7, 1959 — July 30, 2022

West Jordan

Sky Olsen passed away on July 30, 2022

in West Jordan, UT.

He was born on January 7, 1959, in Salt Lake City, UT

to Lornell & Jeannine Olsen.

His childhood years were spent in both Billings, MT and Salt Lake City, UT.

He graduated from Cottonwood High School in SLC.

We all looked forward to our family vacations when we visited Monroe, Richfield & Fish Lake.  Many happy memories of bonding with our beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are still treasured.

Sky worked various jobs throughout his life including the IT Department at the Utah State Prison, but perhaps his favorite job was with Hexcel Corporation where he manufactured carbon fiber materials used in commercial aerospace.  He was very proud of his work there and would often bring home small samples of the fabric to show his friends and family.

Sky marched to the beat of his own drum & enjoyed his lifestyle

(which may have finally caught up to him).

He had a big heart, a quirky sense of humor, and he loved to laugh.

He enjoyed the time he spent with his children & grandchildren.

He had a host of friends and was very loyal to them, sometimes to his own detriment.

He loved strumming his guitar and having jam sessions with his buddies

while they enjoyed a “brewsky” together.

He also loved riding his motorcycle freely through the beautiful Wasatch mountains & beyond.

Sky is survived by wife, Charity Smith,

and two daughters whom he loved very much:

Julianna Palmer (mother - Marie) and Aubrey Olsen (mother - Charity)

Siblings: Mike Olsen (Alicia) & Patti Davies (Steve)

Grandchildren: Angus & Jameson Steele, Winry & Maes Palmer

Son-in Law: BJ Palmer

Nephews: Neil Olsen & Chase Montrose

Stepchildren: Chantell Bouldin, Chance Ponciroli & Saydee Ponciroli

Also survived by many aunts, uncles & cousins

Proceeded in death by his parents, sister (Jan), and nephews (Christopher & Tad).

His wish was to be cremated.

Further arrangements are pending until a later date.

It is our hope & prayer that he is now resting in peace,

free from the physical & emotional pains he experienced in this life.

Sky had a great love for animals, especially dogs.  Please consider a donation to the Utah Humane Society in his memory: https://donate.utahhumane.org
