Rozana Taylor Wilkey, age 69, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away peacefully in her home at 3:50 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. She was born on October 29, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ralph Alvin and Marcia Checketts Taylor.
Rozana married Gary Lee Wilkey on November 5, 1970, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 3, 1972. Rozana and Gary were married for almost 54 years. Rozana graduated in 1973 from Cyprus High School while caring for her first two sons. At a very young age, Rozana always desired to have an eternal family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, and was loved by all who knew her.
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many church callings. She was gracious and compassionate with her time and talents in helping those around her, however her dedication and focus was always on her family. She was classy, spunky, striking, and regal. Her working career included several sales positions. She enjoyed many hobbies and was known as an expert in organizing, (one of the skills many family and friends greatly appreciated), decorating, gardening, sewing, and making specialized quilts for many of her grandchildren, as well as many other hobbies.
Travel was always in her blood. Earlier years included tent camping in National Forests and Parks, she loved the beauty that surrounded her, especially when it rained. Later years traveling in a travel trailer throughout Utah and surrounding states. Her adventures continued visiting church history sites and national history sites throughout the United States. She also travelled internationally to Mexico, Canada, Japan and many other countries throughout Europe and enjoyed meeting people and learning about other cultures.
Rozana touched many lives with her love, kindness, and wisdom. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Gary Lee Wilkey, and her four sons: Tyran Lee (Felicity) Wilkey, Lehi, Utah; Garritt Oliver (Amber) Wilkey, Herriman, Utah; Brandon John (Jacinda) Wilkey, Elk Ridge, Utah; and Dustin Charles (Samantha) Wilkey, Marble, Colorado. Two Sisters, Linda Taylor and Susanna Jones, two Brothers, Larry (Barbara) Taylor, and Roger (Pam) Taylor. 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren numerous brother’s and sister’s in law and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph Alvin Taylor and Marcia Checketts Taylor, her in-laws Merle Maurice Wilkey and Muriel Bylund Wilkey, and brother-in-law Lee Jones.

A reception will be held on Friday August 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the South Jordan 3rd Ward located at 9750 South 2200 West South Jordan, UT 84095.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a reception from 10:00 – 10:45 AM at the South Jordan Utah Stake Center located at 2450 West 10400 South.
