Roberta June Franklin, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
June was born on June 17, 1939, in Ogden, Utah. She married the love of her life and was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 6, 1965. Together, they built a loving home, raising six children and opening their hearts to foster children from various programs. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, June’s life was a testament to her faith and her unwavering commitment to her Savior. Her selfless nature brought peace, comfort, and joy to all who knew her. Always ready to lend a helping hand, she opened her home and heart to those in need, delivering meals or a plate of cookies with a warm smile. As a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, June faithfully served in various callings, giving everything she had to valiantly fulfill her roles. She was a beloved neighbor and friend, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved planning gatherings to bring her loved ones together. The holidays held a special place in her heart. She meticulously planned each one, striving to make it more memorable than the last. With Christmas being her favorite holiday, it's fitting that she's now celebrating the season in the arms of her Savior.
June was preceded in death by her mother (June McDonough) sister, (Karen Stack) brother (Butch Evans), granddaughter (Chelsea Franklin) and grandson (Nicholas Whitehorse). She is survived by her husband (Richard Franklin), children (Rich and Wendy Franklin, Tammy and Paul Ensign, Mike and Shelly Franklin, Karin Franklin and Tennay Evans, Pamela and Matthew Izatt, Laurie Leoncavallo, and Roxanne and Al Whitehorse) as well as her 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
