Richard Lee Scoville, our brother, cousin, and friend, passed away March 5, 2022, in Salt Lake City. He was born October 31, 1951, in Ogden, Utah, to Duane J. and Lois F. Scoville. Richard grew up in Bountiful, Utah. Richard loved his family and friends, and his companion cat L.B. Richard was the property manager at the RV Park owned by Jencor Corporation in S.L.C. for fifteen years and enjoyed the company of many who lived there. He enjoyed spending time with his friends four-wheeling in the deserts of Utah, snowmobiling in the Uintah Mountains, and racing boats at Lake Powell and Pineview Reservoir, in Utah. He was an avid race car fan and got his last wish of attending a race car event in Florida in February. Richard was a kind and generous man who enjoyed helping his friends whenever he could.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Brady, Kanab, Utah, and Goodyear, AZ., brother-in-law, Mike, cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by father (Duane), mother (Lois), brother (Duane) sister, (Karen), grandparents, and companion cats, Cleo and K.T.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ALS in Utah.
Richard was grateful for his dear friends who assisted him during his difficult struggle with ALS disease: Edward Blanchard, Gary Diehl, Cory Olsen, and his cousin Jan Maack. The family wishes to thank the ALS Team at the University of Utah Neurology Department for their care and support, as well as, his exceptional nurses Terrell, and Nick in the Shock/Trauma Unit at IMC, Murray, Utah for ensuring his peaceful and comfortable passing.
Thank you, Richard, for loving us unconditionally and for leaving us with many cherished memories.
