Richard Evans Burnett

Richard was born in Sweet Home, Oregon to Ivan Marcell Burnett and Faye Leone Evans; the fourth of seven children. Richard was raised in Oregon and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico. It was in Mexico where he met Naomi Velasco and was blessed with four boys. Years later he met Fay Allington while working at the Salt Palace and the rest is history. Fay brought three children to their marriage and together they had four more. Dad and Mom raised their eleven children together as one, big, happy family; and even added extras along the way. Dad was self-employed with his prized Paper Chase Sweeping business for 40 years and just retired this last February. Dad was the most selfless man; helping anyone and everyone he knew and didn’t know. He instilled in each one of us the importance of service, hard work, and family. Dad loved music and singing, especially when serenading his sweetheart of 51 years. Dad had a positive, larger-than-life presence and that presence is going to be deeply missed. He is survived by his eternal sweetheart, Fay; his best friend, Buddy, 11 children, plus three more, 42 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 31 at 11 am; 4551 S. 1200 E. Friends and family may visit Friday, December 30 from 6:00-8:00 pm and one hour prior to services.
