RaeLene Pearl Beckstrom was born on June 3, 1939, in Murray, Utah. Raelene passed away on March 24, 2023, surrounded by her family. She is the oldest daughter of Desmond Charles Peckham and Louise Boulter Peckham and the second oldest of seven children. RaeLene attended Sanpete High School and graduated in 1957.
RaeLene married her sweetheart, Darrell Gilbert Beckstrom, on September 26, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Raelene and Darrell raised four daughters in West Jordan, Utah, where RaeLene lived for 60 years.
RaeLene was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing dresses, pants, quilts, and even wedding dresses and outfits for her daughters. She showed love through her talented hands. RaeLene had a lifetime passion for gardening and spent many hours outside in the sun carefully curating her piece of heaven on earth.
RaeLene was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her years of selfless service included Cub Scouts, Primary president, Relief Society president, and visiting teaching coordinator. Her calling in the Relief Society was one of her favorites, as she was able to serve and befriend many sisters.
RaeLene remained active and mobile until the final months of her life when she was admitted to the ICU and diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Although her spirit remained strong, she fought daily to remain with her family as her body weakened.
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend but we know she is at peace and finally able to rest. We know she feels great joy now as she is surrounded by those who passed before.
Raelene is survived by her children, Kathy (Casey) Fleming, Kimberly (Joe) Lloyd, and Heather (Anthony) Page along with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Beckstrom, her daughter Tammy Bird, her parents, Desmond and Louise Peckham, and her great-granddaughter, Lexie Lloyd.
