Patsy “Patricia” Joyce Nichol Barben, joined her eternal family
on Wednesday, the 23rd of November 2022. She was born on
December 29th, 1929 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. On April 4th, 1947
she married the love of her life, Grant Lamont “Speed” Barben, in Ogden,
Utah and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
She lived a life full of passions, which she passed on to many
of her children. She was a voracious reader, further educating herself
and always expanding her knowledge. She attended Weber State University
where she received praise for her ability to create prose and thought.
She loved to oil paint and was a gourmet cook, never using a recipe, always
winging it to perfection. She was also “Speeds” partner in his second career
as a general contractor building custom homes. It was Pat’s input in the
design phase that often helped his homes sell so quickly and continue
to be in such demand. She was such a classy lady, ever admonishing her
children to present their “Best” self and always be kind to others.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and all four siblings.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Lynn) Cook, Scott (Christine) Barben,
Marianne (David) Jones, twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing held on Friday the 2nd of December from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm
