Michael Garcia

Loving son, brother, and fiance, Michael Anthony Garcia, passed away
unexpectedly at home on January 1, 2022.  He was 26 years old.

Michael was born on January 16, 1995 in Midland, Texas to Teresa
Hernandez Garcia and Oscar Rubio.  He was a loving brother to Alana,
Emanuel, Mia and Hailey. He grew up in Midland and West Jordan and
graduated from West Jordan High School in 2013.

Michael's smile could light up a room and he is well known for his
bear hugs.  He was always the first to shake hands with an old friend
or introduce himself to a new one. He loved readily and was loved in
return.

He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in high
school and later served as a missionary in the Monterrey, Mexico
mission, where he learned Spanish.

Michael loved volleyball, basketball and football.  He became a
die-hard Ravens fan when watching the team play one day; he said, "If
they win, they'll be my team forever."  They won that game and
Michael's enduring loyalty.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Maria Garcia,
Apolonio Rubio, and Maria Rubio; and his uncle Rudy. He is survived by
his mother, Teresa (Rafael Mondragon); siblings Alana, Emanuel, Mia,
and Hailey; father, Oscar Rubio; aunts, Ruby and Sylvia; grandfather,
Raymundo Subia Sapien; nieces and nephews, Andreas, Cruz, Vida, Lola,
and Amaya; and his fiancee, Camille Harnden. He is also survived by
countless friends, neighbors, and ward members who all miss him dearly
and remember him fondly.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse located at 8825 S 3200
W, West Jordan, UT.  A viewing will be held at 10am and the funeral
services will follow at 11am.
