Marilyn Dee Brady Elkins
1937-2018
Our beautiful wife, sister, aunt and friend left her earthly home in Taylorsville, Utah unexpectedly into the arms of her dear husband and family at the age of 80. She returned to her heavenly home on Friday January 19, 2018.
Marilyn was born April 5, 1937 in Union, Utah to Marjorie Elizabeth Cox Brady and Mervin Lindsay Brady. She was their only daughter amongst 5 sons.
Marilyn married the love of her life John C. Elkins November 22, 1958. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple June 12, 1976. They enjoyed 42 wonderful years together, until her soul mate and best friend passed away in the year 2000. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Marilyn lived her life to the fullest and loved people, especially her family, neighbors and best friend Dickie, whom she has known and loved since grade school.
Marilyn was fun loving, outgoing and had a delightful sense of humor. She enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with her family. She loved deer hunting and searching for pretty rocks. She was an amazing artist and crafter. One of her favorite things to do was to give service to others. She and John were always buying and doing things for those who needed their help until they both started acquiring health problems. Her love was unconditional.
John and Marilyn never had any children of their own but were blessed with many caring and loving nieces and nephews that they cherished and loved as their own.
A big thank you to them and to her good neighbors and friends who gave so freely their love, time and support helping her out and making it possible for her to stay in her home the past18 years. Thank you for the love, patience and excellent care that was given to Marilyn while she was at Aspen Ridge East Rehab Center after her fall. Thanks to Life Care Nursing Home for the loving care they gave in helping her though the final stage of her life.
