LaVar Weight

LaVar Paul Weight, loving father, grandfather, husband and friend passed away peacefully

At his home in Taylorsville UT on January 26th, 2022, at 6:45 am. LaVar was preceded

In death by his parents Alma and Delors Weight, his loving wife Anna Louise Pappas Weight,

Youngest son Craig Veral Weight and the mother of his 4 children Shirlene Weight Peterson.

LaVar was the father of 4 children, Jeffery LaVar Weight, Michael Paul Weight, Craig Veral Weight,

Julie Lyn Weight and 2 daughter-in-laws Hazel and Tami Weight. Also blessed with 4 step children 2

daughters Toni, Dana, and two sons Mark and Greg Pappas and the proud grandfather of many, many

grandchildren and great grandchildren.  LaVar had 1 sibling and was the oldest of Brother Kenneth Martin Weight & wife Sandra.

LaVar was a proud Korean Veteran and upon his return eventually started his career with Publishers

Press where he worked for many years until retirement. He and his brother shared a deep passion for

restoring old cars, Corvair’s and Volkswagen’s were their favorite, and both belonged to the Salt Lake City Corvair Club. They loved finding the old broken-down cars and working side by side as brothers to bring them back to their original glory.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday,

February 1st from 10:00 am until Noon.

followed by funeral services at his

ward house, 1495 S. Tamarak Rd. Taylorsville, UT

Flowers can be sent to the ward house or his home

(1581 W. Conifer Way Taylorsville, UT)

Interment will be at Valley View Memorial.
