LaMar Jesse (Swede) Olson was born May 21, 1929 in Murray, Utah to Jesse John Olson and Lula Griffiths. He died peacefully at home, in Heber City, Utah on June 22, 2022 at age 93 years, and one month. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Norma Jean (Lancaster) Olson, son Ron (Christy) Olson, daughter Sherry (Blaine) Hyde, son Bruce (Butch) (LeAna) Olson, 47 grandchildren and spouses, 81 great-grandchildren and spouses, and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Melvin Lindegren and Norman Olson, and sister Lois Olson Naylor. For 40 years he worked on the crushers and flotation at Kennecott Copper Corporation. Prior to that, he worked at Fisher bakery, Interstate Brick Company, and was a bricklayer. He found joy in hunting, fishing for brown trout, making knives and gaffs, raising and fighting game chickens. He fancied himself a bit of an outlaw but was one of the best men we knew. He will be missed.
