Keith James Petersen was born November 12, 1944 and passed away peacefully with his family August 12, 2024. He may be gone, but it is through the memories he created that he will not be forgotten.
We learned many lessons from our dad. When we were kids he used to tell us to swing at everything, he was referring to softball but translated to take every opportunity you can. The other valuable lesson was no crying in baseball, which taught us to get back up when you fall. He taught us similar lessons through horses, “get back in the saddle,” or “get back on that horse.” These lessons our dad taught us would shape our lives into something greater than we could have ever imagined. Dad also taught us the most important thing in life is the memories that are left behind. We don’t get to take our money or our material things when we pass. We do, however, get to leave memories in those that are left behind. Dad was always trying to help other people.
He is survived by his wife Sonnet Petersen, daughters Krista (Kacee) Petersen, and Kelly (David) Lemons, son Brent (Kathy) Petersen, and his grandchildren Jasper Lemons, Logan & Lyric Petersen, and Zack Petersen. As well as Jaimie Petersen, and her two sons Richard and Joel Buck. He is preceded in death by his father Harlo Fister Petersen, his mother Denise Petersen, sister Kathy Petersen, and other family members. There will be a celebration of life on September 7th, 2024 at 12:00 pm, at Cross E Ranch 3500 N. 2200 W., Salt Lake City, UT 84116. https://www.crosseranch.com/
