Karen Bowen Coon passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 26, 2016 in St. George, Utah.
She was the daughter of William Fife and Thelma Bowen. Born on April 19, 1936 in Beaver Dam, Utah. She graduated from Cyprus High School. Karen married Dean Coon on April 9, 1954. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 4, 1997. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bowling, golfing, reading and crocheting. She was active in the LDS church and had numerous callings. She loved living in St. George where many lifelong friendships were developed. She loved her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
She leaves behind her children: Paula Holmes, Robert (Rosemary) Coon, Julie McAdams, Carol (Duane) Privett, Ronald J (PaulaAnne) Coon, 22 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Preceded in death by her husband Dean, her parents, her granddaughter Valerie Coon, and her grandson Chris Willis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Taylorsville 8th Ward. 1495 W. Tamarack Road (4650 South). Friends may call at the church Monday from 10 am.
