Julie Williams, 72 passed peacefully at home on August 8, 2023, in South Jordan Utah.
Julie was born November 14, 1950, in Salt Lake City Utah to loving parents Gerrit and Musa Van Tussenbroek.
Julie grew up on her grandmother’s ranch in Birds Eye Utah. This is where she developed a great love for horses, and a soft spot for all animals. She was very passionate about horseback riding. Julie shared this joy with her three children and taught them how to ride horses in 4H.
Julie was introduced to Adopt-A-Native-Elder program from a small advertisement in the newspaper, which lead her to discover a deep love & respect for the Navajo people. Over the years she made several trips to the Navajo Reservation and shared her journey with her children and grandchildren. On the reservation and through the program she made and fostered sacred connections, which would last a lifetime.
Julie had a 35-year career at Intermountain Health Care as a medial coding specialist and supervisor. She took great pride in her work and went above and beyond believing that in the end it was the little things that mattered. She had a strong work ethic, loved working with people and was well respected in the medical community.
Julie generously gave to any and all who were in need without expecting anything in return.
Julie was full of light and loved with all her heart. She was a free spirit that lived life to the fullest. Julies greatest joy was spending time with family.
Julie is survived by her husband Jeff and children Jessica De Leeuw (Dave), Jenna Erickson and Jeremy Erickson. Stepchildren Jeffrey B Williams (Rebecca), Jamie Newell, Cami Canavan (Jeff), Colt Smith. 18 Grandchildren and one great grandchild. Siblings, Carolyn Brooks (Sam) and Kathy Daynes (Bill), Gerrit Van Tussenbroek (Vicki).
Preceded in death by her parents Gerrit and Musa Van Tussenbroek. Stepdaughter Nikki Smith and Brother-in-law Sam Brooks.
She will be greatly missed by all.
