Joy Denise Williams
What's in a name? that which we call a rose... By any other name would smell as sweet.” Our daughter and sister JOY.
Joy Denise Crawford Williams 1948-2020
It is with sad hearts that we share the loss of our dear daughter and sister. She passed away on Saturday morning, November 21, 2020, after fighting the battle of cancer. We will miss her, but we will rejoice in the time that we have spent with her.
Joy was born January 24, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Keith J. and Mary Joy Crawford. On May 7, 1971 she married John T. Williams III in the Salt Lake City Temple (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). Joy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John T Williams III as well as, her mother, Mary Joy Crawford and her youngest brother Christopher L. Crawford. She is survived by her father, her siblings Randy K. Crawford (Linda), Scott A. Crawford (Ann), Terry J. Crawford (Shannon), Todd M. Crawford (Danette) and many nieces and nephews.
Joy will be buried in the Salt Lake City cemetery on Friday December 4, 2020 by the side of her husband John.
Joy was the oldest and with that came great responsibility. She was the one who watched over and cared for us, her younger brothers. She was the instigator in many of the adventures of our lives and would always be the one we looked to for peace and stability in our lives. Her great love for her Savior was always a topic of conversation, as she was constantly striving to serve our heavenly father and emulate the life of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Never a day will go by that we won’t miss our daughter, sister, our friend, our aunt and our ‘grandmother’ to the numerous posterity that is a Crawford privilege. We are overwhelmed with joy, literally, when it comes to the thought that she is reunited with her husband who passed away 11 years ago.
As her family, we want to thank all of you who have touched her life, who have enriched her life and made her the person she became here on this earth. It is only with sweet anticipation that we look forward to the opportunity to be reunited with her again in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
What is in a name… Joy!!! We love you and we will miss you. Our hearts are heavy but our future is blessed with the memories of your love.
