John Willard Anderson

John Willard Anderson passed away at home on October 3rd, 2024 from a short illness that he fought bravely until the end. John was born on February 13, 1947 to Leif and Ellen Anderson. He graduated from West High School in 1965. He was married in 1964 to La Rae Anderson. Together they had three children and spent 51 years together until La Rae's passing in 2015. John was dedicated to his wife's care throughout her lifelong illnesses. John was employed in the Railroad industry working many positions over a 42-year career with the Rio Grande, Southern Pacific, Western Pacific, Amtrak, and Union Pacific Railroads. In 2017, he married Linda Moon and they enjoyed his final years fishing, traveling to many state and national parks, and taking cruises. John always looked after everyone in his family, finding the means to take care of their needs and offering sound advice.

The Anderson family would like to extend a special thank you to the Moon family for preparing his home for his healthcare needs. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Moon and her family; sisters, Sarah Winegar and Kristine (Stan) Kaas; sons, Steven (Darla) Anderson and Doug (Jennifer) Anderson; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by daughter, Caroline Anderson and brother-in-law, Ron Winegar
