Edgar Gomer affectionately known as "Bill" passed away in Midvale Utah surrounded by family on December 1st, 2019.
Bill was born in Ft. Worth TX on August 3rd,1927 to Stanley and Ocie Gomer. He was the 2nd of their three children. Growing up he spent his time on the family properties in Ft Worth, Lake Worth, and Hemphill Texas. Bill graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in range biology. Later he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs before retiring from the Bureau of Land Management.
On October 6th,1952, Bill married the love of his life Mae Sessums. Together they welcomed three children Bruce, Preston, and Melissa "Lisa". During their 68 years together they lived in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, before finally settling in Utah.
Bill had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His love of hunting took him as far away as South Africia.
As we say goodbye to our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather we celebrate his sense of humor. His laughter will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. He will be missed but not forgotten.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Ocie, sister Helen(O.J.) and son Bruce. He is survived by his wife Mae, his brother Stanley Jr.(Wanda), son Preston(Cindy), daughter Melissa(Mike), grandchildren Billy(Quortnie), Terra(Troy), Gavin, Tyler and Nicole, as well as great grandchildren Emily, Matthew, and Madelynn.
Bill's ashes will be scattered where the antelope roam in the Utah desert. A memorial service will be held at that time.
