Donald Roat

March 4, 1951 — September 20, 2021

Our most beloved and cherished father, grandfather, brother and friend Donald L Roat, Jr., passed away September 20, 2021. He returned to our Heavenly Father to continue protecting and guiding us all. Don was born to Donald Lee Roat, Sr. and Martha Ellen Ropp in Powell, Wyoming on March 4, 1951.

Don (also known as “Buster”), grew up in the Northwest; Red Lodge, Libby, Nye, Montana; Jeffery City, Cody, Wyoming, and Oakridge Oregon, where he graduated from High School. He married Sharon House and had a daughter, Jennifer. They later divorced. He joined the United States Navy where he became decorated while serving our country during Vietnam. Don was on the USS Chicago. After military service, he attended the University of Utah where he received a Bachelor of Finance, Marketing and a Graduate of Human Resource Management. While at the University, he met the love of his life and best friend, Connie Frasier. They were married January 21, 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Don and Connie lived on the Oregon coast and in Utah. They loved the coast, fishing and all the rugged scenery. They enjoyed outdoor activities together. He was a master of all trades, fixing everything for everybody constantly. There was nothing he couldn’t do or figure out how to do. He made everyone laugh, always having a funny joke or retort.

There aren’t enough words to honor the wonderful man, Donald Roat. To know Don was to love Don. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for those he loved and strangers alike as he was completely selfless. The needs and happiness of others, especially his family, were always his priority. His charm, humor, kindness, love and all-around beautiful personality affected everyone he came across each and every day. His strength was heroic and inspiring; he never quit. While we are all eternally blessed with Don, we are utterly heartbroken to have been parted too soon and too young on our earthly journey. His devotion was unsurpassed and he will always be his family’s hero.

Don is survived and loved so deeply by his wife Connie Frasier-Roat; children Matthew Roat, Tiffany Roat-Johnson (Eric), Jennifer Love (Stephen), Phillip Roat; grandchildren Rachel Roat, Bo Johnson, Hunter and Braeden Love, Maddyson Roat; sister Hazel Klein (Jerry), brother William (Bill) Roat (Vicki) and sister in-law Shirley Roat. He was preceded and joyously reunited with his parents and three brothers Frank (Skip), Gary and Henry Earl (Cork) Roat.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., viewing at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, North Canyon 7th Ward, 3350 South 100 East, Bountiful, Utah. Burial at Bountiful City Cemetery.
