Darlene Pidgeon

Darlene (Dorton) Pidgeon died unexpectedly on March 7, 2018 in Murray, Utah at the age of 75. Darlene is survived by her children; Frank (Jodie), Fred, Delray, Cory (Melissa), Alan, Karen, Josh (Gina), Kristy, and Kelli; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Earle (Cindy), husband Bob, and her parents George and Leona Dorton. Darlene was born on October 10, 1942 in Murray, Utah to George and Leona Dorton. She graduated from Granite high school. She married Bob, her first and only love in 1960. After moving to Salt Lake City and over a period of time the couple welcomed 10 children into their home. Darlene spent most of her life as a homeworker but spent time working for the state in data entry and retail. Darlene loved and took pride in researching her family genealogy and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren about the family history. She was an avid dog lover and loved spending time with her family. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held several positions within the primary. Darlene was also one of the first members of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Darlene was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Wandamere Ward 304 E. 2700 S. Salt Lake City, Utah 84115. A second viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 am at the Wandamere Ward on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 followed by funeral services from 11:00-12:00 pm and the interment at Murray City Cemetery 5490 S.
