Carole Hipwell Lloyd

Carole Hipwell Lloyd, 80, passed away peacefully with her family gathered around her on July 5, 2024 in Bountiful, Utah.

Carole was born on August 20th, 1943, in West Weber, Utah to Lois Maycock Wade and Willis Hipwell. She grew up in West Weber and attended Weber High School where she excelled academically. Carole loved reading, playing and watching sports and spending time with her older siblings Ray, Keith, LaVaun, LaVern, and Emma. Carole lived in Roy, Ogden, and Kaysville, later retiring to Centerville where she loved spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Carole had four sons with Chris Lloyd to whom she was married for 18 years. After divorcing, Carole remained remarkably close to her sons and involved in their lives. She primarily was a wonderful stay-at-home mom, but later worked as staff supervisor at the Davis County Sheriff’s office for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed her work and colleagues, going the extra mile to help everyone. 

Carole was a woman of many talents. She was a masterful bridge player, an avid reader, could swing a great golf club and participated in many bowling leagues. Carole was great in the kitchen and made fantastic enchiladas and caramel popcorn. She loved playing cards and games like “Go Fish,” “Gin” and Dominos with her sons. Raising active boys who were immersed in sports, she attended hundreds of basketball, football, and baseball games along with some tennis and golf matches. Anything she could do with her sons fulfilled her. In her later years, she loved attending her grandsons’ games and granddaughters’ dance competitions and piano performances. She relished cheering them on and giving them treats afterwards.

Carole was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, and acquaintances. She had a caring heart and loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. She believed in the eternal plan of happiness and like her, we know we will be with her again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all siblings and her son Ryan Lloyd who passed away February 15. We find comfort knowing she is reunited with them. Carole is survived by her children: Lynn (Anne), Casey (Angie) and Tyler; 13 grandchildren/spouses; and five great-grandchildren.

We are grateful for everything Carole did for us, especially for loving us unconditionally. We also want to express our love and appreciation to extended family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances who have shared wonderful thoughts since her passing. 

A family graveside memorial service will be held in West Weber for Carole and her son Ryan at a later date.
