Murray, UT - Carol “Dean” Williams, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021 of
complications related to Parkinson's disease. She spent her final days and weeks surrounded by family and loved ones.
Dean was born on September 16, 1946 at a Naval Hospital in Panama. She was the first child of Roy and Evelyn Seay, of Spartanburg, South Carolina. While her father was away with the navy, and throughout the rest of her life, Dean served as a second mother to her three sisters [Jacque Wilson, Nancy Cooley, and Candy Chapman] and two brothers [Roy “Butch” Seay, and Bob Seay].
While studying French at Brigham Young University, she met the love of her life L Jay Williams, of Montebello, California. They were married at the Los Angeles California Temple on June 2, 1967.
She worked nearly thirty years as a teacher's aide for Granite School District, teaching life and academic skills to thousands of underprivileged children. She served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a young women's leader and girls' camp director. She opened her home to several foster children, to extended family members, and to any other people in need who crossed her path. The impressions she left and the impact she made on the lives of people she served will endure forever.
Dean is survived by her husband L Jay Williams, and children; Jay Reuben Williams (JoLynn), Carrie Daniele Howell (Steve), Jonathan L Williams (Sally), George R Williams (Ashley), and grandchildren, Britney Johnson (Tyler), Braden Saddler (Katelin), Melissa Saddler, Mandy Saddler, Sailor Howell, Emily Williams, Ivan Williams, Max Williams, Frankie Williams, Connor Williams, and Alex Williams. Preceded in death by her parents, as well as her grandson, Anthony J Howell, and five "angel babies.”
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2022, 12:00 noon, at the LDS chapel located at 1250 West Atherton Drive, Taylorsville UT where friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday 1 hour prior to services. Directors Independent Funeral Service
