Buddy Bowen, a loving son, brother and uncle, and agent of the transportation industry, died January 18, 2020.
Clarence Bowen III was born on July 13, 1968, but everyone knew him as Buddy. He grew up in Okemos and was a graduate of Lansing Catholic Central High School.
He loved football, hunting and cars. He parlayed his love of cars into his work where he spent time working for car dealerships in Michigan, Minnesota and Tennessee. He also drove limousines and 18-wheelers. He spent several summers as a dock porter transporting luggage by bicycle and driving a team of horses on Mackinac Island, which he always referred to as his “Happy Place”. Buddy had a big heart and funny sense of humor.
Buddy is preceded in death by his father, C.B. “Bud” Bowen II. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Bowen of Okemos, and sisters Bridget Warner of Dimondale, Colleen (Dave) Holzman of Ypsilanti and Sheila (Richard) Longhi of Sandy Hook, Connecticut, as well as several nieces and nephews.
