Ann’s life began April 13, 1943, and ended on March 14, 2023, after bravely battling a long illness for many years. Ann was the fourth of six children born to William F. Kleineberg and Margaret E. Ellefsen Kleineberg. She grew up in the Sugarhouse area of Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High School and Salt Lake Community College. Married Jerry A. Sory (later divorced) and moved to Santa Maria California. They had two children, Terri M. Sory and Jefffery A. Sory.
Ann worked for over 40 years at various home improvement and mortgage companies. She also worked at Norton Research and Development, and CUSA Technology.
Ann is survived by daughter Terri Sory; son Jeffery Sory; great granddaughter Kyla Sory; sister and brother-in-law Jean & Dennis Pascus (Lakewood, CO); brother John Kleineberg (Dallas, TX); best friend Larry Limberg (Murray, UT), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents William & Margaret Kleineberg; sisters Marilyn Hansen, Kathleen Acocks, and Margie Kleineberg; granddaughter Heidi Anne Sory; lifelong best friend Diane Limberg.
Ann was very proud she raised two children on her own, bought her own house, and was a cancer survivor. Ann was sweet, kind, brave, strong, a silent hero, a friend to all, and always a peacemaker. Ann had hoped to reach her 80’s. Her one regret was that her health declined before reaching her 80’s (her timeline for being youthful and healthy).
She missed being young.
