Aiveni "Ivan" S Mila

Our beloved son, brother, uncle, father, and friend Aiveni “Ivan” S. Mila, age 45, was
unexpectedly called home to our Heavenly Father on February 22, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

On May 9, 1977, he was the seventh child born to Vili Fonongaloa and Mele Laukau Mila in
Nuku’alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga. Ivan later immigrated to Utah with his family in November 1978.
A man of large stature and quiet nature, Ivan was the perfect combination of loyalty and
humility. In 2003 he welcomed his first joyful noise, his daughter Kalesita Uinita Nai Mila. In
2006 he blessed our family with his second daughter and our mother’s namesake Mele Laukau
Mila. Rounding out his trio in 2007 with Amelia Seini Mila. His daughters brought out a soft side
to his personality making him more talkative than ever. They enjoyed listening to music together
and to his endless dad jokes. They love and appreciate their father for his efforts to find strength
to press forward, no matter how big life's hurdles were. He will be remembered and loved
eternally.

Ivan is preceded in death by his Parents: Vili and Mele, Brothers: Sione Mila, and Maliu M. Mila,
Sisters: Lisa M. Mila, and Seini “Sepi” T. Mila. He is survived by his Daughters: Kalesita Uinita
Nai Mila, Mele Laukau Mila, and Amelia Seini Mila. Brothers: Timote N. Mila, Sione (Portia) Mila,
Etuate P. (Tupou) Mila, Sunia K.M. (Lexi) Tua’one, and Semisi V. (Meliani) Mila. Nephews:
Vilinai, Sunia, Vili, Chris, Sione, and Maliu. Nieces: Tina, Tasia, Akesa, Candice Rose, Anau,
Lisa, Lile, Mila, Sepi, Faka’anaua, and Lupe. Great Niece: Lillian. Countless Cousins, Aunts,
Uncles, and Friends.
