Mary Cynthia Hayman Oct. 25, 1963-June 4, 2017 “Cindi with an I” was reunited with her parents when she passed away suddenly, June 4, 2017. She leaves behind a brother, Kevin Hayman, 4 children, Julie (Justin) Allen; Josh Durfey; Brandon (Heather) Durfey; Emily (David) Colbert and 11 grandchildren, who were her joy and happiness. Cindi was born to Ted and Robbie Joyce Hayman on October 25, 1963 in Morton, Mississippi. She spent her childhood in Vicksburg, Mississippi and at the age of 16 was converted and baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was the first baptism in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. At age 19 she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she eventually married and had four children. Cindi was an involved stay at home mom, always volunteering at the schools and in extra curricular activities as class and team mom, throwing parties, writing team cheers, organizing fundraisers, making costumes and so much more. She also volunteered in her community, doing mobile patrol, organizing McGruff houses and cleaning up graffiti. She served in many different capacities in the LDS church throughout her life, the majority of her time spent with primary aged kids or young women. Cindi was a hard worker, and as a single mom sometimes even worked multiple jobs, to ensure her kids never missed out on any of their passions. She spent time living in Washington and Nevada, but remained a southern girl at heart. Later in life she faced many challenges but was strong, resilient and alway remained positive and upbeat. She loved music and even though she couldn’t sing well, it didn’t stop her from singing loud and often! She had a wonderful laugh and was a friend to all. While she enjoyed her different jobs, most notably working for the Better Business Bureau, her favorite job ever was Grandma! Cindi said for many years that her dream job was to be surrounded by her grandkids, babysitting grandkids all day! She worked hard to create a special bond with each one of them individually. She was fortunate enough to have recently moved back to Utah and spent nearly every waking moment with the majority of them. Her family takes comfort in knowing she was truly happy in the days leading up to her unexpected passing, as she was living her dream with her grandkids. She will be missed by many. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 9th at the LDS Chapel, 8173 S 3200 W., West Jordan, Utah, with a viewing one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cindi Hayman Memorial Fund at any America First Credit Union.
